Lakers’ Wayne Ellington taking advantage of starter’s minutes during Kobe Bryant’s absence

The implications surrounding Kobe Bryant’s playing status has become more far-reaching than just his long-term health. It has also cemented a stronger role for Wayne Ellington, who started at shooting guard over Bryant in Friday’s game against the Orlando Magic. Ellington has started six of his seven games this season when Bryant sat to rest his 36-year-old body.
