UNC-CH mascot in coma after hit


A Concord student who portrayed UNC-Chapel Hill's mascot remained in a coma Saturday with serious head injuries and brain swelling after being hit by an SUV on Friday. Friends and family members sent thoughts and prayers to a hospital room in Hackensack, N.J., as Jason Kendall Ray, 21, lay critically injured. (Raleigh News & Observer)
