Carolina Icon Dean Smith Dies At 83

Dean Smith, the legendary coach of UNC Men’s Basketball team, has passed away at age 83. Smith led the Tar Heels for more than three decades, retiring in 1997 with 879 victories to his name – the most in college basketball history at the time. He led the Heels to national titles in 1982 and 1993, and eleven appearances in the Final Four.
