George Lynch on Dean Smith: ‘Even when you played for him...he was still a legendary figure’
Posted Feb 8, 2015
George Lynch, senior captain of the 1993 national championship team: “He always wanted the guys to be themselves. Other than the press conference (after the 1993 NCAA victory), I didn’t see coach Smith around. He wanted us to enjoy the moment. Even in pre-game meals, he encouraged us to eat pre-game meals without him because he wanted us to enjoy the time we were spending together."
