Time on bench helped Lawson grow
Thursday, March 22, 2007
One of the NBA point guards Ty Lawson admired while growing up, Allen Iverson, also clashed with a North Carolina alumnus coach -- Larry Brown -- over poor performance in practice with the Philadelphia 76ers. It took time on the bench to convince Lawson that practice was important. "Now I realize how you do in practice is how you're going to do in the game," he said. Lawson has played brilliantly ever since he learned that lesson. (Charlotte Observer)
