Dean Smith remembered for giving opportunities, changing lives

Dean Smith was a man who gave a lot of himself -- that much is evident in the outpouring of stories about a selfless man of great integrity. It would be impossible and unfair to rank the contributions he made to society, but after his death Saturday evening, one of his characteristics that is most remembered was his penchant for giving opportunities, the kind of opportunities that change lives.
