Thousands expected at Dean Smith memorial Sunday

The public is invited to a memorial service for Dean Smith Sunday at 2 p.m. at the basketball arena named in his honor. Smith, who led the Tar Heels to two national titles and 879 wins in a 36-year career as head basketball coach at UNC, died Feb. 7, 2015. He was 83 years old. Former UNC players, close friends and coaching colleagues are expected to share memories of Smith.
