The Angels offered as much as $1 million, but Harvey, at only 18 years old, said he would not accept even $1.99 million. The pitcher is notoriously stubborn — a trait confirmed multiple times throughout the E:60 profile — and decided to forgo the money to attend the University of North Carolina. There, he rededicated himself to baseball.
