UNC's coach was Thomas Gawthrop "Doggie" Trenchard, an All-American at Princeton in 1893, the fifth year All-America teams were put together. Carolina handed Georgia its worst loss of the season, 41-6 in Atlanta. UNC also waxed Wake Forest 53-0, South Carolina 48-0, and three "non-major" foes by a combined 146-0. The loss came in the season finale, 20-3 at arch rival Virginia.
