The fleeting success of college baseball in the state of North Carolina

In 2013, the college baseball series between North Carolina and N.C. State was the hottest ticket in the Triangle. The Tar Heels and Wolfpack were top-10 national programs who put together an epic, 18-inning ACC Tournament game in front of 11,392 fans at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. It was the largest crowd to see a college baseball game in North Carolina. And that was just the beginning, as the series went from Tobacco Road to Omaha.
