So, which teams in college football played the "fastest" last season? According to College Football Matrix, Bowling Green, North Carolina, Arizona, Baylor and Texas Tech were the top five teams in plays per minute. The average pace of play across FBS last season was 2.919 plays per minute. The number is arrived at by taking the total number of offensive plays and dividing that by time of possession.
