‘Amphibious’ pitcher makes headlines

The headline writer meant to call Oakland A's pitcher Pat Venditte "ambidextrous," but for whatever reason, replaced the hard-to-spell word that means the pitcher can throw either left or right, with the equally hard to spell "amphibious," meaning suited for land and water. The media blog Romenesko reached out to the editor of the paper that made the mistake, The East Oregonian. “It’s just kind of a silly mistake, and I’m trying to craft a column about it now,” said managing editor Daniel Wattenberger
