Texas says independent probe of basketball academics under way

The University of Texas announced Monday that it has initiated an independent probe of academic fraud allegations within its basketball program. The investigation will be supervised by Gene Marsh, the former chairman of the NCAA's infractions committee, school spokesman Gary Susswein told The Associated Press. Marsh has already begun working on the probe, according to the AP. (Sporting News)
