New contract loaded with incentives for UVa basketball coach Tony Bennett to stick around

The University of Virginia has reworked the contract of men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett in a fashion that will make it less tempting to leave Charlottesville. Bennett signed a seven-year deal last June that called for base salary and supplemental compensation totaling $1.924 million. Less than 11 months later, Bennett agreed to a new contract that will pay him $2.1 million per year, including $400,000 in base salary and $1.7 million in supplemental compensation. (Roanoke Times)
