Chapel Hill company gets grant from NFL for brain injury research

Two researchers at UNC have an invention that could make detecting brain injuries easier -- and the NFL is interested in hearing more about it. Mark Tommerdahl and Bob Dennis, founders of Cortical Metrics, were recently awarded a $300,000 grant from the NFL and General Electric to extend their research on traumatic brain injuries in athletes, the military and the general population.
