Posted Jul 30, 2015
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers have found the use of a combination of AIDS medications known as antiretroviral therapy can help prevent the transmission of HIV through sexual activity — a finding that could eradicate the virus. Myron Cohen, director of the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases at UNC-Chapel Hill and principal investigator of the study, released the findings of the UNC study on July 20 at the 8th International AIDS Society Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
