Pittsburgh guard Josh Newkirk expected to transfer closer to home
Posted Aug 9, 2015
Pittsburgh announced on Sunday that rising junior guard Josh Newkirk is expected to transfer from the university. Newkirk had microfracture surgery on his left knee on May 6, and was expected to be ready for the upcoming season after sitting out a majority of the offseason. He averaged 5.9 points and 2.7 assists in nearly 21 minutes per game last season. The 6-1 point is from Raleigh, North Carolina, so look for some schools in that area to get involved.
