Spurrier names his starting quarterback

University of South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has named redshirt sophomore Connor Mitch as the starting quarterback for the season opener on Thursday, September 3, against North Carolina in Charlotte, according to a release from the school. Mitch has been listed atop the depth chart since before spring practice.
