Dean Smith used to drive the media nuts by saying in October UNC's goal in basketball was to make the NCAA Tournament. This year, Roy Williams and his team have said their goal was to win the national championship. Now that's a gap for you. The truth is Smith's statement was silly, given the strength of his program.
