Woody Durham could remain anonymous — until he opened his mouth. Inevitably, someone would recognize his voice. “It happened enough that I kind of got used to it,” he says. For 40 years, Durham was the radio play-by-play man for the Tar Heels, calling nearly every football and basketball game until his retirement in 2011. “People still come up to me and say, ‘Woody, I miss that voice.’”
