A chair used by former University of North Carolina men’s basketball coach Dean Smith will soon have a new purpose: It will be retooled and used by chemotherapy patients. On Friday, the chair was auctioned off at Tar Heel head coach Roy Williams’ annual breakfast benefiting cancer charities. Dr. Mark Graham, a former UNC professor and oncologist at the school’s cancer research and treatment center, purchased it for $15,000.
