Not Sweet: UNC Takes Its First Home Loss

Roy Williams lost his temper and his jacket last night, and then his North Carolina team lost a game at home to determined Virginia Tech. Behind the unerring free-throw shooting of Zabian Dowdell, Virginia Tech outlasted North Carolina 81-80 in overtime in a shocked Smith Center. Virginia Tech beat North Carolina for the second time this season and handed Williams' team its first loss at home this season. (Winston-Salem Journal)
