Matt Doherty, SMU struggling in Conference USA play

As the record indicates, Matt Doherty is taking his lumps in conference play. In some C-USA games, SMU has been competitive. For instance, the Mustangs lost last weekend to Rice when Brian Epps missed a 3-pointer with a second left. Other losses haven’t been so encouraging. The Mustangs were swept by Houston 82-67 and 64-49, and Memphis’ 88-52 win wasn’t that close. (Charleston Gazette)
