Imagine, for a moment, if Frank Beamer had made the move. If he’d decided to leave Virginia Tech 15 years ago to become the head coach at North Carolina. He almost did, and so it’s conceivable that Beamer could have been on the opposite sideline when the Tar Heels play the Hokies Saturday in Blacksburg, Va. Instead, Beamer, who’s in his 29th season and on the edge of retirement, will be on the Virginia Tech sideline....
