Amid doubts, North Carolina and Clemson won all the way to Charlotte


At North Carolina, few outside of Chapel Hill were buying into the Tar Heels' ACC championship prospects, even as they rolled through the ACC. The principle belief was that the wheels would come off at some point for the perennial underachiever and the Heels would sink back toward the bottom of the ACC like they had much of the last two decades.
