North Carolina in its present form (11-1 record, ACC Coastal Division champions) looks much different than anticipated after suffering an unsettling loss to a Steve Spurrier-led South Carolina team to kick off the college football season. Despite the head-scratching start, Gene Chizik’s first year on the defensive side of the football in Chapel Hill has been impressive for the Tar Heel football program.
