Texas is in its first year under former VCU head coach Shaka Smart and his effect on the Longhorns' playing style has been clear. Under Rick Barnes, UT never ranked in the top 150 in defensive turnover percentage, dipping to a low of 350th in the country last season. But this season Texas is forcing a turnover in 22.5 percent of its defensive possessions, good for 35th nationally.
