Red-hot N.C. State topples UNC 83-79


Upstart N.C. State yesterday knocked off the ACC's first-place team for the second time in four days. North Carolina went down this time, losing 83-79 in the RBC Center. N.C. State shot 76.5 percent from the field in the second half, missed only four of 17 shots and got an important 3-pointer from Courtney Fells. N.C. State thwarted every move that North Carolina made, snapping a six-game losing streak in the rivalry. (Winston-Salem Journal)
