Jumping up to speed

To many, the jump ball has become a forgettable ritual in college basketball -- simply the traditional way to begin a game. North Carolina coach Roy Williams, however, sees it as an opportunity. "It's important, because it's one extra possession," said Williams, whose high-octane team leads the ACC in scoring with 87.8 points per game. "And the way we play, we want to get every extra possession we can." (Raleigh News & Observer)
