UNC's Difficulty With Long-Term Football Success

My old high school coach used to say, "It's easy to get to the top. It's much harder to stay there." UNC's tortured program history proves the second part right, only it has been hard for UNC to get to the top as well. Since Carolina began playing football in 1888, there have been eight seasons where the team has posted 10 wins or more.
