York B. Larese of Medford, formerly of Winchester, passed away on February 6, 2016 at age 77....As a 6'4" standout guard at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was a three-time All-ACC selection from 1959-61 and a second-team All-America as a senior. Nicknamed "the Cobra," for his singular style of shooting free throws, he shot the ball, with no pause, as soon as the official handed it to him.
