Tar Heels stomp Yellow Jackets


The Worldwide Leader was in the Dean Smith Center on Saturday night. So was the man running to lead the free world. Dick Vitale, Digger Phelps and John Edwards saw a North Carolina team rout Atlantic Coast Conference-foe Georgia Tech 77-61 with surprising ease. The game wasn't pretty, with 40 combined turnovers. And the leading scorer, North Caroina's Tyler Hansbourgh with 24, had just five field goals. (Rocky Mount Telegram)
