Latta sinks clincher against Huskies


Even on her worst nights, still holds the dagger. Her 3-pointer with 1:01 left proved to be a lethal weapon. It killed all of No. 6 Connecticut's momentum, allowing Latta's North Carolina teammates to take control and eventually post a 82-76 women's basketball win. Carolina's victory came on the day that the team learned it had not ascended to No. 1 upon Maryland's 81-62 loss at Duke on Saturday. (Raleigh News & Observer)
