At Owen High School, Roy Williams' former player Porky Spencer would share a thought of the day, and Williams liked the line, "I didn't come this far just to come this far." Williams has used the line this season with a UNC team that’s pursuing a national championship. Marcus Paige referenced it Sunday during and after an 88-74 win against Notre Dame.
