Tar Heels rally for win

UNC hadn’t been in a close game for a while, seven double-digit wins in December followed by two more blowouts in the first eight days of 2007. So when visiting Virginia hung with the top-ranked Tar Heels for the first 25 minutes Wednesday night, UNC players knew exactly what they needed to do. They scrapped for their 79-69 win over Virginia at the Smith Center with stingy defense and hustle off the bench.
