Tar Heels Grind One Out


Top-ranked North Carolina struggled to shoot straight early as Virginia got off to a fast start delaying the Tar Heels’ inevitable surge until midway through the second half. And although UNC wasn’t able to orchestrate another blowout, its ever-improving defense managed to wear down the Cavaliers enough to insure a hard-fought 79-69 victory on Wednesday.
