Fact is, it has become increasingly obvious in recent years that to reach the top tier of college basketball, some sort of bending of the rules isn't just normal, it's necessary. We spend most of the year hammering the NCAA for its arcane, oppressive rules, but when we have an opportunity to use them as a hammer with which to bludgeon a team or a coach we don't like, we suddenly embrace them.
