California-to-Carolina connection a double bonus for Heels

North Carolina freshmen Deon Thompson and Alex Stepheson aren't all that worried about adapting to the rigors of ACC play beginning tonight. They've accepted the idiosyncrasies of the region -- "like the barbecue ... it doesn't have sauce," said Thompson, still a bit befuddled by the concept. And frankly, perimeter-oriented Florida State -- No. 2 UNC's first conference foe of the season -- might have a whole lot more trouble acclimating to them. (Raleigh News & Observer)
