College basketball transfer trend an overblown topic

The numbers are alarming. And somewhat misleading. More than 700 Division I men's basketball players transferred last year. The total rises annually, and this offseason already has been eventful. Duke announced the departure of point guard Derryck Thornton on Sunday, giving the Blue Devils something in common with N.C. State, Wake Forest and Campbell. With UNC an exception, local schools are losing players left and right. (Fayetteville Observer)
