Williams prefers not to crow over No. 500

Roy Williams didn't want to make a big deal of his 500th win. North Carolina didn't give him a choice. UNC's men's basketball coach got an enormous cake, framed jerseys from Kansas and UNC and a video tribute after his 500th a career win, a 94-69 victory over High Point on Saturday at the Smith Center. Williams' 500th win ended like his first, with 94 points. That was 624 games and 18 seasons ago. Williams reached the plateau faster, in terms of number of seasons, than any other coach.
