For all the praise and testimonials that will be heaped upon Roy Williams tonight when his North Carolina basketball team likely beats High Point for his 500th career victory, there is one sentence that will probably resonate most to him — both personally and professionally. It was uttered by another great Tar Heel coach Friday during a news conference at the building named in his honor. “He was always a great student,” Dean Smith said. Proof of that is in the numbers.
