Illinois coach Lovie Smith is accustomed to night games from his years in the NFL, but they aren't his preferred kickoff time. "I like 3:30 games," he said Monday. He also understands the value of a night game, such as Saturday's 7:30 kickoff against North Carolina. The Big Ten Network telecast is the marquee matchup of this week's nonconference slate.
