Kick in the gut - 54-yard field goal on final play beats Florida State
Posted Oct 1, 2016
Nick Weiler, who had never attempted a kick of 50 yards or longer until Saturday, drilled it through the uprights and straight through the collective hearts of the Seminoles, who have now lost all hope of contending for a national championship, or even the ACC Atlantic Division. The kick, 5 yards longer than Weiler’s career-best, gave UNC a 37-35 victory over 12th-ranked FSU.
