Smith to be inducted into new Hall of Fame
The desire to honor the legacies of the best in men's college basketball history has led to the formation of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, which will have its first induction ceremony Sunday. The Kansas City based hall of fame is the first of its kind to specifically recognize outstanding collegiate players and coaches...The Collegiate Hall of Fame's Founding Class of 2006 will include legendary UCLA coach John Wooden; former North Carolina coach Dean Smith, the winningest coach in college basketball history; basketball inventor Dr. James Naismith; and Bill Russell and Oscar Robertson, who both had professional careers as players that eclipsed their outstanding production as collegians.
