Missing chances and lacking passion doom UNC’s defense

North Carolina’s defense survived giving up more than 518 total yards against Georgia Tech. There was no surviving being hit for 467 against Duke five days later. With the sputtering offense unable to bail it out, missed chances and damaging penalties led the defense to create more frustration for itself than opportunities.
