Erin Andrews was in a meeting at the New York Giants’ team facility on the Saturday before the Week 3 game between New York and Washington. Her doctor’s number popped up on her phone. Andrews excused herself. She was calling with the results of the follow-up tests, which were now conclusive: cervical cancer. Andrews would need surgery, and soon.
