Nuggets pick up option on Karl

Already carrying considerable clout in the Nuggets locker room, George Karl's authority grew stronger Tuesday with one simple transaction. Leaving no room for speculation about the coach's future, the Nuggets locked up Karl through the 2009-10 season by exercising the three-year team option in his contract. (Rocky Mountain News)
