Heels Hold Off Furman


You have to crawl before you can walk, but most of all, North Carolina learned how to win in a hard-fought, 45-42, victory over I-AA Furman Saturday night at Kenan Stadium. With both offenses sputtering, no one expected a shootout. UNC’s defense did little to stop the Purple Paladins, which rolled up 521 yards of total offense. (Inside Carolina)
