New book tells story of Durham Bulls' rebirth and its effect on the city

To truly appreciate what the return of professional baseball to Durham for the 1980 season meant to long-deprived fans of the sport, the landscape of the minor leagues generally and the city itself specifically, you had to be there. Not only was Ron Morris there, he had the merry task of chronicling baseball’s return and its historic and often riotous ramifications for the local newspaper, the Durham Herald-Sun.
