Zena Cardman didn't always want to be a NASA astronaut, but she is one now


UNC alumna Zena Cardman was with a group of friends eating breakfast the day she got a phone call that would change her life. In late May, Cardman learned she had been chosen as a member of a class of 12 new NASA astronaut candidates who could, one day fly to the International Space Station or even deep space destinations like the moon or Mars.
